Introduction and General Information
The Chinese Club of National-Louis University was established in 1986. Since 1987, the main purpose of the club has been to provide academic and social support to new and existing Chinese students at National-Louis University.
Also, the club has given academic awards to outstanding Chinese students who have succeeded in their studies. Those who qualify for the academic award receive $50 and an award certificate from the Chinese Club. Every year, the Chinese Club gives 2 to 11 academic awards to Chinese students.
We have held many activities to represent Chinese students’ interests in all aspects of college life, such as the Chinese Handicraft and Gift Fair, Chinese New Year Celebration, Asian Heritage Month Celebration, Low Income Tax Workshop, Annual Award Celebration, Fundraising events for Sept. 11 and Tsunami victims, etc….

Advisors’ Message
Congratulations to Olha Omelyukh, Jiang Hong Li, Joann Chan, and Ho Yan Chan! They have received the 2008 student leadership award from NLU’s Student Affairs. They have been Chinese club officers since 2005; they have participated in all club events, and their contributions have helped the Chinese Club to organize all its events. It has been our pleasure to work with them and to have seen them grow their personal skills.

It is my honor to receive the 2008 Advisor of the Year award from NLU’s Student Affairs. It has been my pleasure to work with the Club officers, Student Affairs office and all NLU faculty and staff. Also, I am proud to see the Club officers have grown their personal skills and I deeply appreciate their valuable services to our Chinese Club. Thank you to all NLU faculty and staff for their participation and support for the Club.
I would like special thank to Mr. Bob Keser’s new idea of helping our club to organize our events in coordination with other departments. His contribution brings our club to a new era of cooperation.
