Kudos to Sue Shumate

Sue Shumate, Executive Director, Northern Virginia/Washington DC campus, has been selected to attend the FBI Citizen's Academy. This is a course offered by the FBI to senior executives and is focused on building awareness and partnerships with the FBI and business community. Shumate is also a founder and the first president of the Virginia Out-of-State Non-profit Colleges and Universities (VONCU). This organization is being developed to provide a voice for the out-of-state institutions to the State Council on Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV). She is also serving as the secretary for the Washington Area Corporate University Consortium and the treasurer for the Experiential Learning Assessment Network.
Outstanding Student Leader and Alumni Awards Presented at Annual NLU Gala

At the annual NLU gala held in Alexandria, Virginia, one student received the Outstanding Student Leader Award and three former students were presented for Outstanding Alumni Award. Sheila Yasher was this year's recipient for the Outstanding Student Leader Award. The Outstanding Alumni Awards were presented to Mr. John Plifka, Special Agent William Borden, and Major General Warren Freeman. read more
Two area students receive the award for Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges

Darnell Funderburk (Andrews AFB - 140B) and Angela Palmer (On-line BSM Program - NT001UBSM) were selected by the University's Office of Student Affairs in Chicago to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. This award is one of the most prestigious awards among the academic community. This honor is conferred by more than 1,900 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and is symbolized by the presentation of an award certificate. Who's Who Among Students is one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation. This marks a high point of scholastic achievement by these outstanding campus leaders. Congratulations to Darnell and Angela.
National-Louis University and Defense Acquisition University Sign Memo of Understanding

On Friday, March 18, 2005, National-Louis University signed a Memo of Understanding (MOU) with the Defense Acquisition University. The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Wayne Glass, Professor, Systems Engineering, Logistics and Program Management and Director for Strategic Partnerships. Signing the MOU were Dr. James McMichael, Vice President for the Defense Acquisition University and Mr. Rich Magner, Dean, College of Management and Business, National-Louis University. read more
Articulation Agreement Signed with AMSC

NLU's Carlos Vargas receives Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Award

Senior Master Sergeant Carlos Vargas has been selected by the University as the recipient for the Student Lincoln Laureate Award for 2005. He is the director of customer service, patient advocate and protocol office at Andrews Air Force Base. read more
